Care instructions

A little care goes a long way

Our cotton pieces are made to be used, not kept untouched in a cupboard. A gentler wash will simply help the print, quilting and shape stay with you for longer.

Hand block printed cotton

  • Wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent. Avoid bleach and strong stain removers.
  • Dry naturally in the shade rather than in direct sunlight. Do not wring the cloth or tumble dry.
  • Iron on a low to medium heat where the individual product care label allows it.

Always follow the care label inside your piece first. Some products, particularly our jackets, have their own instructions.

The first wash

Hand printing can leave a little excess colour in the cloth, particularly when a piece is new. You may notice some colour in the water during the first wash or two.

This is why we recommend giving your piece its first washes separately, in cold water, without leaving it to soak for long.

A little colour in the water is not the same as the print disappearing; the cloth simply needs a gentler introduction to the washing machine.

Quilted bags and pouches

Quilting gives our bags and pouches their soft structure, so treat them gently when washing.

Spot clean where possible. If the care label allows washing, use cold water and avoid twisting or wringing the piece. Reshape it while damp and let it dry naturally in the shade.

Quilted jackets

Our quilted jackets are dry clean only.
